David McNett, Chief Information Officer

McNett is a founding employee of FlightAware and has served as Chief Information Officer since 2005. In this role, he leads the global infrastructure growth, designs the data warehouse network, and leads FlightAware's global operations.

McNett brings over 25 years of experience as a technology developer and manager of massive, disparate mission critical applications and projects. McNett is a worldwide technologist with experience managing enterprise data applications on six continents at companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Kaiser Permanente, and NTT Data/DoCoMo. McNett regularly serves as a panel member and speaker at major technology conferences. He was a founder of distributed.net, which pioneered distributed computing in the 1990s, and continues to serve as the President and Chairman.

McNett lives in Houston and is the chief instructor and founder of the FlightAware Motorsport Racing Team and associated FlightAware SCCA sponsorships.

McNett holds an FAA pilot certificate.
