McDonnell Douglas DC-10 (ZK-NZP)

THE REMAINS OF THE BURNT OUT FUSELARGE AND MAIN WING OF THIS MAGNIFICENT DC10-30 JET WHICH CRASHED KILLING ALL 257 PASSENGERS ON BOARD WEDNESDAY 28 NOVEMBER 1979 1.32PM ANTARCTICA TIME. I watched this aircraft land gracefully as she touched down at auckland airport on that same week being a Monday as TE505 from LAX/HNL.NAN. I am still choked up[ with words to see such a well maintained aircraft very pretty in it;s colours could be gone in a flash. I worked on tis aircraft while it was hangered several times when I worked for Air New Zealand and I watched those people depart from there loved ones that day like they were ghosts leaving from gate 2 I never saw zk-nzp again after she lifted off from runway 23R at 08.30am from AKL airport may the crew and passengers RIP.
