The holding firm responsible for running Iran's civilian airports, the Iran Airports Company (IAC), has warned four local carriers that they risk legal action if they fail to settle IRR7 trillion (USD229 million) in outstanding fuel bills.

The Iran Students' News Agency says that while talks between the IAC and various debtor carriers have largely been productive, settlements have yet to be reached with IranAir (IR, Tehran Mehrabad) and its subsidiary, Iran Airtour Airlines (B9, Tehran Mehrabad), as well as Mahan Air (W5, Tehran Mehrabad) and Iran Aseman Airlines (EP, Tehran Mehrabad).

In April, the IAC began depriving the quartet of fuel among other measures aimed at pressuring them to settle their debts.
