Well said, now why all the down votes again???? Remember those who served, also those who did serve but were killed while doing so. May those who are no longer with us be membered and rest in peace knowing they helped us to live free in this country.
I voted it a thumbs up because I understand the underlying point, but I'm guessing it's getting negative feedback because the squawk title comes across as a bit self-righteous and schoolmarmy.
My soldier and I are going to remember... AND barbecue. Because it's Memorial Day, AND there's a long standing tradition of getting together with families on holiday weekends when the weather is nice, and firing up the BBQ. Nothing wrong with that. One does not preclude the other.

Well, I don't feel self righteous, but maybe it was kinda schoolmarmy, but I can't really apologize for that, because so many folks have forgotten the real reason for the Holiday.
I know that, preach... that's why I gave you a thumbs up. I'm just guessing most folks on this site are kind of already on board with the remembering for the right reasons, as there are loads of pilots with prior military experience. Mighta been preachin' to the choir just a bit... 8-)
