Fantastic picture.
The E-4B is a fascinating aircraft but it is an "all business" platform. Heard a former Defense Secretary make a comment about the fact that there are no windows (other than flight deck). It doesn't have the luxuries of the VC-25A. Considering how long the four E-4B aircraft have been in use, one has to wonder how in the heck is it going to be replaced.
Speculation here, but I wonder if the Department of Defense is giving any consideration to purchase aircraft that got retired prematurely? Given the purpose of the aircraft, I suspect DOD would still prefer the redundancies of the 4 engine platform.
