North American P-51 Mustang (NL68JR)
P-51 MUSTANG, Kansas City Air Show, Wheeler Downtown Airport
Comments
Redtail...is this one of the original Tuskegee Airmen planes?
Out of all the Mustangs currently flying, very few, maybe only a couple have actual WWII combat history.
This P-51D is painted to represent the 334th Fighter Squadron which was based at Debden airfield Essex England.
The Red Tails Squadron had tails that were almost all red, this Mustang has merely a red rudder.
This is not the Mustang painted to represent the Red Tail Squadron, which is a P-51C

NL68JR - Is reg to a 1944 North American P-51D 'Sweet Revenge'
