Airbus A350-1000 (B-LXD)

This is Cathay Pacific’s Sunday only, cargo only HKG-SYD-ADL-HKG flight during Covid-19 restrictions. Until this flight, B777s were used so this was a nice surprise and as well, that A350-1000s don’t normally operate into Adelaide. A fellow photog said it was only the second time.

We’re in winter and with the sun at its most northerly, with this arrival time, landing shots from the north-east (onto Rw 23) are shadow side unless you can access the terminal. The terminal had been closed to non-travellers because of a cluster of coronavirus cases breaking out among Qantas baggage handlers early in the pandemic. From news reports, the terminal is open again but with only three commercial venues operating.

That is one beautiful aircraft. LOL, I don't discriminate aircraft manufacturers. As long as it flies, I'm cool.
