Where are the numbers? Is this a static display? From the looks, I'd assume this scooter came off the line in California before the McDonnell-Douglas merger in the mid-70s (an E or F model). I know at one time Blue Angles chalk 1 aircraft was an F model A-4 Serial number 71-54983 (I have a picture). During Viet Nam, the US military was buying aircraft rapidly enough that serial numbers went to five digits fairly early in the year. I suspect this Serial number is actually 71-54176. It would be nice to know what slot he Angles flew her in as well.

Serial is actually 154176, USN Bureau No. I think FA system adds the "dash" when uploaded. An absolutely beautiful shot too!!
