I sure miss the MD-80's at ATW from Allegiant these days.

All the deicing Type 4 fluid just rolls off the wing when going down the runway. Propylene glycol is pretty easy on the environment and not toxic like your car anti freeze....ethylene glycol.
Just a difference in number of carbon atoms in the chain...CH2OH2 ethylene vs. CH3CHCH2OH (even used in food to preserve moisture and freshness).

I miss these old jets. I used to fly on them all the time. At my home airport, there used to be delta and allegiant md-80/90's taking off and landing all the time there.
