Oklahoma City Thunder's plane ends up with massive dent in nose on flight to Chicago

Oklahoma City Thunder players made it to Chicago safely, but their plane did not arrive unscathed.

The team's Delta charter plane was damaged during the flight from Minneapolis — with several players posting pictures on social media of the aircraft's dented nose after they landed safely. The Thunder are in Chicago to play the Bulls on Saturday night.

A Thunder spokesperson told The Oklahoman that all players and staff were safe. A Delta Airlines spokesperson told the newspaper that the plane likely hit a bird while descending. 

"Delta flight 8935, operating from Minneapolis to Chicago-Midway as a charter flight for the Oklahoma City Thunder, likely encountered a bird while on descent into Chicago. The aircraft, a Boeing 757-200, landed safely without incident; customers have since deplaned and maintenance teams are evaluating. Safety is Delta’s top priority."

Carmelo Anthony posted on Instagram, "What possibly could we have hit in the SKY at this time of night? Everyone is Safe, Though. 'All Praise Due' #ThunderStrong".

Steven Adams also took to social media, calling out NASA, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye in his tweet in search of answers to what could have caused the massive dent.

"We had a rough flight to say the least. 30000 feet in the air. Flying to chicago. What caused this?"
