Didn't DHS/TSA get rid of the color-coded warning system because they realized that their vague, baseless warnings were worthless?

Al Qaida has accomplished what it set out to do. America is afraid of its own shadow now - even chipmunks in the wood pile are suspect. These DHS/TSA are creating jobs for themselves by instilling fear in the citizens. Once look at the quality of personnel they are hiring will tell this is smoke and mirrors and self justification.

now watch al-qaida WILL do something even though bin laden is dead

My car can do way more damage then what I typically fly. WAY more. Joe McCarthy once saw what fear could do to Americans. And we know how his story ended. Just stop this talk. It is pure nonsense.

"The sky is falling, the sky is falling" Chicken Little after being struck in the head by a falling acorn. Welcome to "Chicken Little America 2011 edition"!! I was once an Ag-Pilot (in the 70's) Today there are 330 million Americans & only 3000 working agplanes: talk about a closed aviation society (ag flying) & the DHS actually promulgated the theory that an Ag operation could be infiltrated by an Al Queda operative; a Cicada would have a better chance!!! Agricultural Aircraft Operation FAA Part 137 Truism: Ag flying is a Very close knit community; any & every outsider would never come under consideration for an actual "seat" in a working agplane; the planes aren't there & the "seats" aren't there. DHS must think a terrorist would simply apply and then be granted a flying job as a cropduster: WHAT????? Go try to land an ag flying position next Spring & see how far you get!!! Almost always the Ag Operations have THE BEST Background checks in the flying industry: Everyone knows everyone and to actually end up in the cockpit of a working airplane is one of the hardest aviation positions to acquire: please recall these airplanes are single seat cockpits: no dual, no co-pilot stepping stones (I think SIMCOM has a simulator) just YOU the aspiring ag-pilot & the Ag operator who is about to entrust you (the new ag-pilot) with his $500,000 agplane all alone to get it up & get it down: DAMN RIGHT you (the new ag-pilot) have been THOROUGHLY vetted-checked out-verified & recommended before you even set foot in the single pilot cockpit & DHS thinks that some foreign born Al Queda type is going to penetrate this good ole boy network? Protect me from my "Protectors" over&out

Do you think they sit around and think: ‘we cannot protect against the real threats of loaded SUVs or Rental Trucks, nor would vast number of Americans submit to extensive restrictions on these conveyances? However, GA is very small and we can strangle them and get backing from the average, intellectually challenged citizen while appearing to be proactive’. Remember the mantra of the robot on ‘Lost in Space’ – If in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout!

Same kind of BS from the idiot Napolitano. The same folks that accused returning heroes of being right wing extremists/terrorists. Let's start at the top and dump this dumbass Muslim president and work our way down with a good house-cleaning. Holy CRAP! This stuff is getting a bit tiresome, and it scares me to think that we're very close to having a majority of people who keep voting these numbnuts into office so they can keep getting their public assistance.

@Jim Quinn: your comment is right on. I hope we are not too late already on keeping that bunch of numbnuts from becoming a majority. BHO will not be a blank slate in 2012. Let's hope everybody wakes up.

@Matt: that appears to be the way of the very one's of which he is speaking, start name calling instead of disagreeing and letting him be entitled to his opinion. I happen to share his opinion also, and as I put in my time in 'Nam to stand up for it, I will damn sure express mine too.

This again... It all sounds like a broken record. I realize that the government needs to inform the public, but this is getting ridiculous. Just fear mongering and making the US even more paranoid.

So, a few years ago some despondent accountant/pilot crashed his complex single into an IRS regional office. The toll (as I recall) was one dead pilot, some broken glass, and a scorched parking lot. Put 500 lbs of explosives in the thing you might kill a couple more and crater the parking lot. I'd feel badly for the couple more but I think driving on the Interstate represents a greater personal threat.

@WAYNE; 41 YEARS AGO IF YOU HAD TOLD ME THAT SOMEDAY I WOULD BE BUYING HIGH PROFILE CLOTHING THAT SAYS "MADE IN VIET NAM" I WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU THAT YOU WERE GI #10,000 AND CRAZY. I THOUGHT OUR GOVERNMENT HAD AT LEAST LEARNED A VALUABLE LESSON THERE BUT IT TURNS OUT THE "ELECTED" ONLY CARE ABOUT GETTING RE-ELECTED AND TO HELL WITH WHAT IS GOOD FOR AMERICANS. PERSONALLY I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT EVERY RAT-HOLE COUNTRY. WE ELECTED THESE IDIOTS TO TAKE CARE OF AMERICANS AND THEY CONTINUE TO DO EVERYTHING BUT THAT. THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION IS THE PINNACLE OF THIS ABSURDITY.

@James Wallace: we are too busy playing big brother to everyone and then turning around and letting them kick our @#$. I say exploit the ones we need and let the rest go. If they have nothing to offer then why should we. The Lord blessed this nation once and we have gotten so far removed from it and taken everything for granted we have forgotten it, and by doing so, we forgot how we got to the top in the first place. It is one thing to help but another to just give away everything.

It was this DHS bulletin that prompted an inaccurate and borderline irresponsible TV report from KOSU. They spun this into "terrorists might attack the OSU football game from the air". I shouldn't worry about small airports - there's typically an old codger around who would spot something out of the ordinary in a flash.

@ Jim Quinn: I generally don't post comments, but for god's sake, the president is not a Muslim. I am all for scraping the TSA, The Department of Homeland Security, and entire govt for that matter. I find the fact that many Americans are willing to give up their freedom because of what a color coded terrorist warning system says is ridiculous. But spouting misinformation takes away any credibility one might have.
