Air Canada flight finds stranded Australian yacht.
(CNN) -- They were ready to land in Australia, at the end of a 14-hour international flight, when the 270 passengers of an Air Canada flight were suddenly thrown into a high-seas search-and-rescue operation. Flight AC033 diverted after pilot Andrew Robertson got a call from the Australian Maritime Safety Authority on Tuesday to help search for a yachtsman who had sailed from Sydney two weeks earlier. This is what I can call , going the extra mile to do service to man kind as well as doing the CSR part (Corporate Social Responsibility) Well done fellas , the Crew n more so the Passengers .
I think Air Canada must have some kudos here somewhere. Good hearted and willing as they may have been, I doubt the pilots would have taken it on themselves to deviate from a flight path, at least I don't think they would. I feel there had to be some corporate contact and approval before they did. As for the Pilots and all, they went the extra mile as the could have just blown it off
