Uzbekistan Airways plans to weigh passengers
Uzbekistan Airways announced it would begin asking customers to stand on the scales after they have had their hand luggage weighed. Customers will be asked to proceed to a "special weighing machine" near their departure gates after check-in, the carrier says. A better idea would be to reduce the number of seats on the plane.
Not the worst idea. People are getting bigger, and on smaller turboprops, a difference between "average" body weight and "actual" can make a difference. Remember that US Air (?) crash a few years back?
