Somebody made a big mistake by dragging a passenger from a United flight, but the airline's CEO did "exactly the right thing" by apologizing on Tuesday, former American Airlines CEO Bob Crandall told CNBC. In his latest statement, United CEO Oscar Munoz said the airline took "full responsibility" and vowed that a thorough review would take place. (www.cnbc.com) Daha Fazlası...

Thought of a good slogan or ad for Southwest or Delta (or Jetblue or Alaska) that would say "We beat our competition, not our customers!"

And so the spin doctoring ratchets up another notch.

Hope Munoz ran his railroad better than he runs UAL

UALs CEO did not take ful responsibility until public backlash became heightened. Crandall is wrong and an apologist

I miss Mr. Crandall, he was a true airline manager. I wish he was still running American.

I had the same question. But the press LUV"S to put out falsifications then refer to it as news.

Wasn't this plane and crew affiliated with Republic Airways? I know UAL is the fatter target, but why isn't Republic the "offending" party?

As Ruger mentions, it was marketed as a United product (It was Republic Airways dba United Express.), with United branding on the plane and a United flight number. The flight was sold by United, and indeed Republic doesn't sell tickets directly, only through their partners.

Additionally, from all reports, it was a UAL gate agent who made the decisions which passengers to disembark and when to call the security officers.

Biggest reason is the flight was a United flight. Yes Republic was the contracted operator but the flight was marketed and sold as United Express.

I'm sure Brickyard will be named in the lawsuit. After the fire is out, everybody gets sued. They'll probably have the caterer in court.

Not to mention the restroom operator/cleaner for not having the correct first aid kit available by the sink.
