This news item by Wilson Suckling re. the new A350 service to Christchurch is not correct based on what it infers. The article suggests the new service is in ADDITION to existing B777 services. Wrong. i am an aviation fanatic living in CHC under one of the major flight paths. We have a year round single daily service. Flts 297/298. The A350 replaces the ageing 777-200ERs permanently from Jan.7/8. Every summer due to seasonal demand SIA puts on 3 extra flts a week from start of Dec. to end about 3rd week of Feb.These current extras are still being operated by the B777s The core daily will remain as is which is great news for travellers out of CHC.
Thanks for letting me know Ron. On the day the A350 arrived the 777 still came in the afternoon so i therefore assumed it would still continue
good news for Christchurch! Wonderful people, interesting place. And N.Z. in general needs t be connected with the rest of the world
“19” is Air NZ’s code, I.e. Air NZ’s 777-200s are B777-219ERs...
