UPS pilots detained in Hong Kong while awaiting COVID test results
UPS and FedEx pilots are facing increasingly difficult conditions for crew changes in Hong Kong. The U.S. DOT fired a shot across Hong Kong's bow. (www.freightwaves.com) Daha Fazlası...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Just saying: the article only mentioned different treatment between Cathy pacific and UPS/FedEx. Didn't mention if Chinese cargo airlines also gets the perfered treatment.
Giving how bad COVID situation is in US, I won't blame them to be too caucus. After all Hong Kong is packed like sardine. Plus, the UPS's work-around "test on the way, if test positive, just don't leave the plane" is quite dangerous. The policy is meant to ensure crew is healthy before flight. If they are really sick, then ground crew may get sick if they need to replenish the galley or do maintenance.
Passengers in comparison have a much "worse" time. They were required to stay in designated hotel (paying themselves) for 7-14 days.
