Hong Kong is having the Red Curtin pulled around it more every day. The one country, two systems concept is dead. China's desire to end their mediocracy and become a "playa" has them attempting to punish the US by striking out at US companies doing business there. They are tilting the field for the benefit of their flag carriers. Have you noticed that even FlightAware which formerly showed the flag of the Hong Kong SAR for CP now shows the Chinese state flag?

Hong Kong is a wonderful place, I hope all goes well for Hong Kongers.

Just saying: the article only mentioned different treatment between Cathy pacific and UPS/FedEx. Didn't mention if Chinese cargo airlines also gets the perfered treatment.
Giving how bad COVID situation is in US, I won't blame them to be too caucus. After all Hong Kong is packed like sardine. Plus, the UPS's work-around "test on the way, if test positive, just don't leave the plane" is quite dangerous. The policy is meant to ensure crew is healthy before flight. If they are really sick, then ground crew may get sick if they need to replenish the galley or do maintenance.

Passengers in comparison have a much "worse" time. They were required to stay in designated hotel (paying themselves) for 7-14 days.
