Chicago woman quarantined in airplane bathroom for 3 hours after testing positive for Covid-19 mid-flight
After a woman tested positive for Covid-19 midflight, the bathroom became her seat for the next few hours. (www.cnn.com) Daha Fazlası...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
This is a ridiculous story. If she "suddenly developed" a sore throat, why not just put on a mask take some fluids, and keep her mouth shut. Why tie up a toilet that has no safety features, ie: a seat belt? This is just stupidity in the highest order.
Isn't time to stop testing after the plane is boarded? This shouldn't even be a story.
Sp many holes in this story. First she was from Michigan, and no mention as to how she boarded without taking the required test. Now she's from Chicago and had taken NINE (9) tests in 48 hrs before the flight. Icelandair will confirm all of this. The rapid tests everyone is clamoring for don't work all that well. Only an antibody test does - adminstered at a hospital 72-96hrs for results. If you have the antibodies you don't need the vax or a mask. This is the beginning of tyranny.
Matt, you're wrong. The antibody test simply reveals whether you've been exposed to the disease. It does not guarantee immunity. Second, the test you are mean to refer to is a PCR test, which detects particles of the virus. While more accurate than an antigen test, it can display more false positives. Either way, there is no immunity, but the best protection, personally and globally, is the vaccine and a properly worn mask.
All correct Craig. The problem is that 99.99% of masks are either not effective and/or properly worn. Masks, as what people do today, do nothing to prevent the transmission of illness and by many studies help to spread it by their use. Face diapers may make some people feel good but that is the best they do.
So what you are implying is, since they are 99.99% ineffective, if we all ditched these "masks" today, the transmission rate would remain a constant and there would not be a tremendous upward spike?
Bingo! But don’t sweat omicold. When you get it you probably will not even know it. Fam went through it recently. Low grade fever and congestion was the worst of it for us old folk.
Omicold!!! Epic! I'm stealing that.
Not Bingo..not all who get COVID, be it 1st strain, Delta, Omicron, get it the same. I have had Omicron...headaches, mid grade fever, sneezing and a rotten taste in my mouth.
The only people who should wear a mask are people who have COVID and are around others.
Those who don't have COVID can be a carrier as well..vaccine or not!
And those masks are not 99.99% ineffective, or you would see a mortality rate a hell of a lot higher. They are not a prevention, but they are a helper. Just like all those ads you see that if you have a cold, cough into your arm. Your shirt/jacket wont necessarily prevent others getting the flu, but it helps cut down on the vapour transmission from your cough/sneeze.

djames, a few issues: 1) Asymptomatic carriers do not transmit the disease. We knew that almost from the beginning. 2) Masks have nothing to do with mortality rate. Not sure where you got that idea.
Ok I do not know who you are, or what you think you do. But I do know a few things.
First off COVID is not a disease, it is a virus and asym carriers can spread it. This from just 1 of a slew of medical institutes: "Even people showing no symptoms may spread the virus through contact transmission. Hence, while we have to maintain a safe distance from people showing flu-like symptoms, we also have to be aware of asymptomatic carriers who can spread the disease."
Second off perhaps you best learn how to comprehend what you read, but here let me say it in simpler terms. "If the masks, as bbabis stated and who I was responding to, are 99.99% ineffective as they suggested, then the mortality rate from COVID, should have remained constant if 99.99% of us did not wear a mask." And we know that is not true. It would have been a hell of a lot higher. The masks are not a cure all, but a small bit of prevention. Much like using a garden hose and spraying a bit of water on a huge fire while waiting for the fire responders to arrive on scene. So yes..the masks have a lot to do with the COVID mortality rate.

Technically, COVID (COVID-19) actually is a disease since it is short for "COrona VIrus Disease", and SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that causes it.
