Saving a Plane That Saves Lives
WHEN American troops find themselves fighting for their lives, there is no better sound than an A-10, a plane officially nicknamed the Thunderbolt II but known affectionately by the troops as the Warthog, firing its enormous 30-millimeter gun at the enemy. It might not be pretty, but the A-10 is our most capable close air-support aircraft, and its arrival on the battlefield signals survival for our troops and annihilation for our enemies. The retirement wouldn't be so bad if they were going to replace it with something similar, but the F35 is scheduled to replace it. It ain't nothing but a hunk of junk that won't work, and won't even have a gun until around 2020 and then only one with a 600 round capacity. 1 good burst.
This lady was a full bird colonel and flew missions in the A-10...now she is an elected representative and sits on all the right committees in Congress. Damn, may need another bag of popcorn to watch the hearing where she confronts the suits who wouldn't know an A-10 from a B-52 but have decided to kill the program.
Another nail in the doomed Air Force attempt to kill it.

Yeah, and with Cotton and McCain over on the senate side, I personally don't think they have a chance. They started out saying they needed the money for the F35 and now they are talking staffing. May need 3 bags of popcorn.
