The Planes of Fame air museum is a great place to see rare aircraft. Here is a Bell P-59 Airacomet that the museum is lovingly restoring to airworthy shape. The first operational jet fighter in the U.S. inventory, it was underpowered and didn't make it into combat in WWII. Shown here with a fake "propeller" used to confuse any enemy agents seeing the aircraft before its first flight.
