Airbus A320 (N124US) - Flashback 2009 ~~br /It wears AA paint nowadays, but when I snapped this 12 years ago N124US was dressed in US Airways garb. I liked everything about this livery .. EXCEPT for the flag on the tail. The flag always looked like it had been sprayed on using a stencil. Everyone I knew around here really liked it, but I just could not get the thought that a big cardboard stencil had been taped over the tail and the flag had been sprayed on out of my mind. It just looked sort of cheaply done to me. But the rest of the livery looked great. Of course, US Airways ended up repainting all its fleetbirds that had this scheme for the very same reasons (2) that Alaska ended up repainting its "Reverse Livery" scheme. (I posted a pic of THAT one a couple of days ago.) I wish AA would come out with a heritage special livery in this scheme, but it won't happen.

Great photo and history Gary! I remember these here in BOS as well. I thought this was a sharp livery for US Airways. Filling in all 5!
