McDonnell Douglas MD-83 (N969TW)
Gone but not forgotten! For about a year American flew the MD-80 on the DFW-GSP route. It has since been replaced by the 737. One of the best looking planes ever to fly! Happy Retirement Super 80!

Beautiful!
Yes the elegance of rear-engined T-tailed aircraft will never be bettered. Look at all the wonderful business jets that emulate the design by Gulfstream, Bombardier, Dassault et al. Beautiful! I've always thought the B-727 was the most elegant and graceful aircraft ever to fly, closely followed by the DC9 series and its derivatives.

Great photo of an iconic airplane in iconic livery. The American MD-80 went out to great fanfare and was well done ny American (e.g. last flight Flight #80 from DFW-ORD). When the A319 goes out no one will care.
