To Reach Simple Life of Summer Camp, Lining Up for Private Jets
Gov. Paul LePage of Maine happened to be waiting for his flight at Augusta State Airport on a recent Saturday when the weekend crush began. A turboprop Pilatus PC-12 carrying Melissa Thomas, her daughter, her daughter’s friend and a pile of lacrosse equipment took off for their home in Connecticut, following the girls’ three-week stay at Camp All-Star in nearby Kents Hill, Me. Shortly after, a Cessna Citation Excel arrived, and a mother, a father and their 13-year-old daughter emerged carrying a… (www.nytimes.com) Daha Fazlası...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Oh yeah, now Tracy Sear says if they have money they are republicans. That is just plain dumb. How about all those friends of b.o. on Wall street that pump huge sums into his campaign? Buffet, Soros, Immelt? Turn on MSNBC and watch the constant parade of limo liberals, talking down middle Americans. Get your facts together before making an idiot of yourself, Sear.
The only fair tax is one of two choices. 1. A flat tax...take 10 cents of every dollar earned by EVERYONE. That way Warren Buffet and his secretary pay the portions of their wages. OR... a national sales tax. The more one spends the more they pay. Spend nothing, pay nothing...spend a lot, pay a lot. Would that help the people who currently pay no income tax stop whining about the rich folks that pay most of it? I find it interesting that many think because someone has money they should give an enormous portion of it to the government. The goverment didn't earn it. What has lead anyone to believe the federal government has a track record of spending tax dollars wisely? This country doesn't have a shortfall of revenue, we have shortfall of sanity in the way we spend. I find it ironic that many are lamenting the furlough of 4000 FAA employees. Federal employees have been immune to unemployment for decades, while the rest of have worried from week to week about our jobs. FINALLY, a few government functionaries hit the street and tears are shed on the senate floor.
Yet, so many think the best way to fix everything is to TAKE from someone and GIVE to another. Never has worked , never will work.
So sit on the fence and complain about the "fat cat" with the means to seend his kids to camp on a chartered plane. That envy trait will take you far in life.

yes kadriver, we all know many ways to make it simpler and fairer and our leaders do too. only difference is we don't need votes and they do.
James, that was the point I was trying to make way above. A flat 10% on income for everyone. And If you can afford a G or Global you can afford to pay the sales tax on it instead of trying to deduct it somewhere. And no Rick737 I'm not trying to shaft the rich guy, I just want him to pay what he's supposed to without using a covey of lawyers and accountants to find some way of not paying the sales tax.
We all know why the tax codes contain so many thousands of pages. It's to give special treatment to somebody. It could be condensed to a short story if everyone was treated equally.
BTW I am ready for a 10% flat or national sales tax.....oh, and that little thing the politicians don't seem to understand: living within the "allowance" we send them.
