Sad day in Nigeria; car bomb at a church and a plane crash....really hope the two aren't connected
Its too bad the President of Nigeria isnt calling for a day of mourning for those killed in the car bombing as well... I guess deaths caused by Islamic Terrorists are ok.....
Looks like the original link is broken, found this one for more info. http://www.thetimesofnigeria.com/TON/Article.aspx?id=3668
It also looks to be an MD-80 series by the looks of the pic. RIP
They show a picture of a 737 on their website(http://www.flydanaair.com/fleet_info.aspx) but say they only have MD-83's and the LearJet 45XR. Can you fit 153 people on a MD-83?
According to Wikipedia, it looks like you can fit 155 in a 2 class configuration. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonnell_Douglas_MD-80#Specifications
To me that's a lot of people jammed into MD-83.
To me that's a lot of people jammed into MD-83.
JAMMED is the operative word here!
No doubt, especially in a 2-3 seat configuration.
they can do 172 single class
Flight would have been packed for a 2 class flight. News reports 147 passengers + 6 crew.
