On May 31, 2009, an Air France plane carrying 228 people from Brazil to France crashed into the Atlantic Ocean, killing everyone on board. It was one of the deadliest accidents in aviation history, and according to a recently disclosed judicial report, the pilot had only one hour of sleep. I have never really liked side stick aircraft. I have flown Cirrus SR22's on various occasions and hated the feel of it.
What exactly do you mean by 'Jr.' ??
That directed towards preacher1 by the way.
Well, in Sully's link and one of the initial reports, there was a big log time difference to the left seat, hence the opposite of senior. Just my slang. The left seat guy did give it to him.
There are always two sides to a story. Here is what Chesley Sully Sullenberger (who landed the U.S. Airways flight number 1549 into the Hudson River) has to say about about Air France flight 447.

Thanks for that video, Tom Duff. I've followed the AF 447 case for some time, and everything in the video, with Capt. Sullenberger, re-affirms my initial opinion. What has been most perplexing to me is WHY AirFrance did not have a "Flight With Unreliable Airspeed" checklist in their QRH?? Or, if there was, the WHY didn't the working crew refer to it?
