I hope they solve the problems with the battery systems, no matter how long it takes.

However,I find it quite odd that without knowing the root cause of the failures and incidents, they have a "fix".

That topic has been discussed to death here over the last three months.

I know, something fanboys don't like to discuss anymore.

really? you haven't been alive long. Many planes have had accidents and crashes they never could find the root cause and the FAA never grounded those particular aircraft models...

So then let's throw our hands up, take a few shots at the dart board, and cross our fingers it never happens again. Maybe they found the solution, maybe they did not.

If it were your personal property, would you be satisfied at 35,000 feet that 'maybe' the battery pack will not burst into flames again?

This is not a question of "loving" a "pretty" plane, or any other such nonsense. It is about confidence that the events of the past will not happen again. Very hot fires and plastic aircraft do not mix very well. And most people I know agree that producers and regulators better have it right this time. Yet right now, we have no idea exactly what caused it. So how can a producer and regulator make any kind of expressed guarantee that the 'fix' will solve it?

What kind of process control is that?

Obviously they would have to have a high confidence it wouldn't happen again, and so would the airlines if they would risk the hundreds of millions of dollars continuing to fly them and passengers.

Seeing how they redesigned the battery, i have a hard time figuring out what could go wrong this time.
