Tail strikes are Not that common. What is common in tail strike incidents is a late flare and stall or near stall after an off profile approach. High and Slow, Low and Slow, don't matter, it's all about slow, high AOA in a late flare. If you over rotate and are too fast, the airplane Won't touch down, it Wants to fly, and they didn't do a miss from what I have gleaned. A "heavy landing" is the obvious follow on.

None of which will be revealed here, I suspect, but the DFDR/CVR already know. They already know which seat did it, but ultimately the Four bar is responsible, and a download of the 'black boxes' would tell if they care about a true account of an Incident report by FAA and ICAO standards.

Careful with those tail feathers! Good grief, you think they grow on trees?

I read that every time there is a tail strike, the plane involved has to be inspected to insure there was no damage to the bulkheads and other substructure of the plane.

There is no such thing as a 'simple' tail strike. That will (hopefully) get a through investigation as to what happened, and why. Unlike a 'go-round', you don't get a 'free' tail strike. Ever...

It's not even 2 years old? I am feeling someone morning the end of their flying career. Oops...
