Satellite ping arcs for MH370 published
Submitted
Lots of nice graphics here, including the ping arcs from the satellite. The first two are clearly closer together than the rest, if this is accurate, implying the flight path changed. And seems like the earlier ones should provide some clear constraints on the flight path, since they shouldn't all be closer to the satellite's projected position. Are the earlier ping arcs also available? (www.washingtonpost.com) More...Fasten your seat belt – turbulence is on the rise

I traveled with her on a major inter-island flight (Jakarta to Sulawesi island on Garuda, considered the safest domestic airline) and witnessed it myself. She presented her dog-eared photocopied ID for both check-in and security. In only one… (www.worldtravelwatch.com) More...More than $500,000 in change abandoned at TSA checks

Submitted
The $225-million runway that Detroit Metro Airport added in 2001 was expected to last for 30 years, but cracks and flaws in the concrete that started to show just three years after it opened have posed risks to safety and are forcing a costly reconstruction. Airports in Colorado and Nebraska have experienced similar runway issues with the problem known as alkali/silica reaction, or ASR, which causes concrete to expand and crack when exposed to moisture over time.
