Emirates chairman says firefighter died in plane disaster
An Emirates Airlines Boeing 777, registration A6-EMW performing flight EK-521 from Thiruvananthapuram (India) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) with 282 passengers and 18 crew, was on final approach to Dubai's runway 12L at 12:41L (08:41Z) but attempted to go around from low height. Maybe the poor guy just had a heart attack, as it had to have been a stressful time when confronted with a plane load of passengers trying desperately to save their lives from a crashed, burning airplane. He died in a good cause, I'd say he was a hero.
Pull the CVR and FDR, read the results and then go tell that sanctimonious chairman where to go. we admire those who own up, not the ones covering everything in BS!
This is ridiculous watching all these people reaching in the overheads for their luggage while the plane is burning.....what is wrong with this world?
It will be a good idea to teach life saving skills to children at school, so the future generations will run for their lives rather than reaching the overhead in dire situations
Most of the valuables are carried in the hand baggage. this can be Jewellery, cash, credit cards, passports, visas, certificates, medicine,and other important documents. The greatest problem in India is putting back all documents together. But life comes first and fleeing the burning plane would be the first priority.
The linked story doesn't have any details regarding what specifically happened or the condition of the aircraft landing gear at the time of the crash. The accident investigation report should make interesting reading.
