Cessna Citation Mustang at Daytona Beach Airport lands without landing gear
The plane had 2 occupants who were both unharmed. What's amazing is the quick response from the airport fire department. Extremely fast compared to other incidents I've seen. (www.news-journalonline.com) Daha Fazlası...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I believe the plane was only just purchased in October or November of 2019.
Here’s the flight profile:

That plane has 3 ways to release the uplocks and get the gear down. It will be interesting to learn what maintenance/operational scenario led to the gear up landing. Also, the Mustang does not have the belly skid (alternate landing gear as some say) that the CJ line of aircraft have to protect fuel and hydraulic lines in the event of a gear up landing. It appears that it should from the fire that developed as this airplane came to a stop.
Glad all are safe.

The article seems to suggest the gear problem was known in advance...hence the 1st CFR vehicle already staged. But, if true, it was poor staging for the 2nd CFR vehicle which was NOT in a good position.
Amen...was known in advance and ground was told about 4-5 mins prior. Both should have been rolling as soon as it touched down and started skidding...and I got down voted for mentioning it..lol
Understandable if this was mechanical failure or deliberate, but how is it possible to do this accidentally? Must be hard to ignore the warning warning horns and flashing lights in a sophisticated aircraft like this no?
I presume this was an accidental, gear up landing. If that was the case, then the fire/ems crews did not know there was a problem until the Citation Jet went skidding down the runway.
